Last Tuesday, March 20th, I had the honor of covering the premiere of the new movie, “Paul – Apostle of Christ” for my upcoming column for The Atlanta Journal Constitution. A couple of days before, my oldest daughter and I watched the preview screening of the movie, in preparation for my upcoming trip.

During the red carpet premiere, we were able to hear the “story behind the story,” from the producers, screenwriters and actors’ perspectives, as well as interview several of them.

Although the movie is set in ancient Rome, its message could not be more current. And Easter could not be a better time to share it with the world. I won’t spoil it for you, but I’ll give you a little teaser: If you wonder what Paul’s “thorn on the flesh” was, the screen writer’s interpretation goes beyond anything I have ever thought. Deep stuff. Really good.

James Faulkner (Paul) and Jim Caviezel (Luke) are flawless in their roles. These two giants of the movie industry poured their heart and soul into the experience. And it shows.

During the event, I was able to sit down face-to-face with Jim Caviezel for a 10-minute interview about his first biblical movie since The Passion of Christ. In the interview, Jim shared his heart, his faith, and why he believes this movie should be watched by everyone, not just believers.

Next week, I will post my column for the AJC, where you can read more about the movie and its message. But in the meantime, I hope you enjoy his interview. Just click below to watch.

Arrivederci!
